Achieve Intentional Transformation with Dr Leonie H Mattison

Achieve Intentional Transformation Podcast is my candid leadership journal from the front lines of institutional change, guided by my signature framework,  T.H.R.E.A.D. System™ —a leadership approach shaped by the ancient wisdom of tapestry weaving. In each episode, I examine what it means to lead through complexity and achieve intentional transformation from the inside out. I believe our internal world shapes the quality of our external impact. Every conversation offers a grounded leadership insight, a practical consideration for your context, and a reflective question to help you hold tension, deepen alignment, and move forward with integrity.

When leaders become more aligned internally, they are better able to lead change externally.

This season has been heavy for so many of us navigating grief, layoffs, breakups, public humiliations, and quiet endings no one really sees. In this tender, truth-telling episode, Dr. Leonie H. Mattison invites you to see rejection through a different lens: not as proof that you weren’t enough, but as a fierce kind of protection over your soul, your destiny, and your design.
Drawing on her research in textiles and tapestry weaving, Dr. Lee reframes rejection as what happens when the Master Weaver refuses to force your life into patterns that cannot hold your truth. From that ground, she gently walks you through five soul practices that are helping her heal in real time:
Humming – an ancestral sound of survival and soothing
Coloring – bringing life and meaning back into gray seasons
Crying – letting grief move through you instead of harden in you
Stillness – sitting under the “tree” of your own life long enough to hear wisdom
Self-Inquiry – asking better questions so you can retrieve the wisdom in your “no”

You’ll hear a new script for your life:

“My life rejected what could not hold my truth.
My destiny refused a system that would have fed on my soul.
My future will not allow me to bind myself to a story that is too small.
My life loves me too much to let me stay where my soul could not live.”

Disruption can arrive in a single email, meeting, or late-night text and suddenly the plans, roles, or relationships you trusted no longer look the same. In this episode, Dr. Leonie H. Mattison shares trauma-informed, soul-centered strategies to help you move from emotional flooding to clarity, so you can respond as the leader you are becoming, not just the one your nervous system is rehearsing.

How to identify exactly where disruption is pressing on your life and leadership using a simple Wheel of Life reflection
How to name and normalize what you’re feeling with the Feelings Wheel so emotion becomes data—not the driver
How to practice Soul Listening and hear the deeper message this disruption is trying to deliver to you
How to clarify the outcome you truly desire on the other side of this season
How to choose one wise, right-sized next step that aligns with your values at work and at home
If you’re walking into hard meetings, navigating a reorganization, or holding private grief while still leading publicly, this episode offers grounding, clarity, and practical tools to help you protect your peace and turn disruption into intentional transformation.

If you’re leading in a season where everything feels like “too much”, whether that’s a reorg, funding cliff, culture crisis, or a quiet personal unraveling behind your professional composure, this conversation is for you.
In this debut episode of the Achieve Intentional Transformation Podcast, Dr. Leonie H. Mattison, organizational development practitioner and creator of The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™, invites you to pause and name the disruption you’re navigating. Drawing on her Jamaican grandmother’s quilting table, her own journey through trauma, single motherhood, a near-death stroke, and years of autoethnographic research (studying her lived experience as data), Dr. Mattison introduces T.H.R.E.A.D. as a human-centered way to move from disruption to intentional transformation.
You’ll explore organizations as woven tapestries, not machines, and meet the six non-linear steps of the T.H.R.E.A.D. System™: Think Deeply, Harvest Wisdom, Release Patterns, Enlist Allies, Adopt Change, and Design Wholeness.
In this episode, you will: Name a real disruption you’re facing right now.
Discover why old organizational patterns resurface under pressure.
Hear how autoethnography helped birth the T.H.R.E.A.D. framework.
